Jubilee 20:16 The Philadelphia Gathering
by Terrence Clark
2016 has been proclaimed many things in different circles. In the USA it’s a "presidential election year". In China, it’s the "Year of the Monkey".
It is the Hebrew year 5776. It’s a "Shemittah (release) year", on the Hebrew calendar—a cycle of 49 (actually 2014 but followed by "The Jubilee Year"---September 2015 – October 2016).
It has been prophesied as the "Great Year" by some and "The Year of Strong Families" by others. Also, by prophetic word, we have called it "The Year of the Gathering" (see article).
2016 is also a scriptural marker. In the book of Acts, the New Testament book that launched the church, chapter 20:16 perhaps is a witness for us all.

Acts 20:16
For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, not to detain himself in Asia, for he hasted to keep the day of Pentecost, if it were possible for him, in Jerusalem.--Jubilee Bible 2000 (JUB)
Pentecost---50 days after the day of Christ's resurrection, was the day that Jesus told His followers that the Holy Spirit---the Comforter would come. It would not just be a visitation or display, but an infilling into all those believers who gathered in that upper room.
And He did come. The believers in Jesus waited ten days, and on the last day, while they were in unity of heart, Word and purpose---the Spirit of God invaded their atmosphere and life. The resulting revival spilled onto the streets of Jerusalem and hasn’t stopped since. 3000, at one time, on a mall below, believed. The manifestation continued, In fact, spreading across the world, affecting generations to come.

Philadelphia-based ministry---Philadelphia House of David (PTOD) is a ministry focused on allowing the move of God, to permeate in glory, upon the city of brother love and around the world. The ministry builds upon the principles of worship demonstrated in David’s Tabernacle (2 Chronicles 5:11-14) ---continuous and effective worship and prayer. PTOD believes the glory manifest by this atmosphere will aid the fulfillment of the Great Commission and bring regional transformation.
So on the seventieth observance of Shavuot, and the successive day of Pentecost, this prophetic team believed God was calling for a time of continual worship in the city. With the appropriates permits, they erected a tent on Independence Mall, the home of the Liberty Bell and invited worship teams from throughout the Delaware Valley to participate. Beginning June 7, through Noon June 13, in 2-hour shifts, ministries gathered to worship.
The purpose of the event according to Jamie Fitt, PTOD worship leader and musician himself, grew out of two similar prophetic words from different sources. "Gather the worshipers at Independence Mall and release what Philadelphia carries to the nation."
So, they did, gathering at the time of Pentecost, to celebrate the current and spiritual Jubilee season, therefore proclaiming liberty throughout the land.
The proclamation not only aligned with the Jewish feast but the New Testament empowerment that fell on Pentecost---the climax day of the holiday.

The link to Independence Mall and the Jewish observance is multifold in the city of America's birthplace. Inscribed on the Liberty Bell, a passage from the Old Testament, Leviticus 25---announcing the Hebrew Year of Jubilee the climatic year cycle that brought property and financial freedom to all of God’s people.
And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.---Leviticus 25:10 (KJV)
It was Jesus, in Luke 4:18, 19 that revealed that this provision of freedom was to all men who trusted in Him and the freedom included deliverance spirit, soul, body and eternal security.
Jamie summed, “We believe through the strategic timing and placement of this event that we can truly speak to our nation from this, its birthplace. We believe it is an opportunity for the freedom of Pentecost and Jubilee to be resounded through the nation from Philadelphia. Hence, the event was named JUBILEE 20:16, In alignment with Acts 20:16. "

It was emphasized, by Jamie and his team that the event was not set as a time to judge, criticize, condemn, or a time to make political statements. The mandate was for a time of music-driven worship for an audience of One---God the Lord. It would be a time to pray for God's Kingdom and government to be established in our land. A time to bless every person who would come near the tent. A time to release the sound of Jubilee, liberty, brotherly love and the government of God to Philadelphia and our entire nation.
During the weekday, there were a handful of worshippers actually under the white, partially enclosed, tent. But assuredly the sounds of worship were far more reaching.
Right smack in one of Philly's most prominent tourist section---crowds of tourist, patrons and strollers were passing by at spirit breadth, at all times.
Some of the participating worship teams were accompanied by worship dancers with flags, pronouncing---in and around the tent and mall---Jesus as King and Lord.
The elevated stage was well equipped---strewn with wires, cords, stands, sound equipment, high powered speakers, keyboard, drums, guitars, bass, and the like. Worship groups needed only to show up 45 minutes before their time and be ready. The incoming groups would pass the worship baton, sometimes picking up the songs that the other was playing before.
6 AM, Monday morning, of the last day, when my team from Jersey was ministering---there was again, a few under the tent, but the atmosphere was charged, as prophetic worship went forth. Before us a group from Camden, I believe. After us, a team from Delaware were waiting to flow.
There was a testimony of healing before we left. One man healed of a ringing in his ear. We noted the irony that God freed him from the ringing, in the place the Liberty Bell rested.
