God lives in the Grand Bahama Islands
He Makes A way
By Debbie Stout
I heard it from a well-known speaker, the late Dr. Myles Monroe, and I wanted to experience it for myself. I envisioned attending the Fourth Annual Called to Greatness International Women’s Summit given by the Kingdom Chamber of Commerce. Also while there, I would do mission work, on the way to and in Freeport.
How would I rearrange my schedule and include a trip that was not planned ahead in my budget? Hmmm! Could I launch my new book entitled---Continued Miracles at the same time? What would God have to say? By God’s grace, He made a way for me to attend. The Bahamian believers gave us a warm welcome with hugs and smiles. My sacrifice was worth it. The speakers reinforced that our decisions are based on our purpose and not our finances. I was glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. Jesus is first in our lives and we are royalty.
Our keynote speaker, Dr. Cindy Trimm addressed our visions, how to get to our destiny, and develop effective strategies, as being children of our King. We must keep a servant’s heart and be a blessing to others. She pushed us forward and stressed keeping focused. |
Praise and worship was excellent, Bahamian style. Many of the songs we sing in our church so I felt right at home. I was glad I brought my praise banners and waved them before the Lord.
I was pleased to have a book display in front of the conference rooms, along with other conference tables, to provide hope and encouragement to the folks who have experienced devastating hurricanes previously.
The mission was on. I gave away tracts in three different airports. One waitress asked for more tracts three times saying, “this is not enough.” Wow. I lead the camera man to Christ at 11 pm the last night and passed him on to a pastor to disciple. Go, Lord. It was wonderful to go to the east end of the island to participate in a children’s outreach for an hour and the children asked me, “Can you come back next week?” Again, I gave and got many hugs.
Arriving back at the hotel, I saw a few police cars at the entrance. I was informed the Prime Minister of the Bahamas was still on site since early in the morning when our organizer had the pleasure of meeting him. I hit the button to get the elevator and the Prime Minister came down the steps next to me. I greeted him as he was leaving. Thank you, Lord.
Seeing the success of the speakers motivated and inspired me to stretch past my limits, and know I am called to greatness for the Lord. God calls all his women to greatness. No excuses. Walk it out!ot the gift.
