It's Finished Thursday 4.2 “It is finished!” (John 19:30). Teleo --- The sixth word Jesus spoke on the cross spelled out in the KJV bible, “It is Finished,” doesn't mean---it’s almost done. It doesn't mean---done in a moment or there’s something else to do. It means just that---it’s done, it’s finished, it’s complete. All that the Heavenly Father had given him to do on earth in himself was done. All that he had to suffer to accomplish his earthly ministry was done. He had To fulfill the Mosaic Law. He had to become the Sacrificial Lamb of the Passover and the Day of Atonement. He has bared the debt of sin and making salvation available to all who believe. He is providing Justification once and for all. By his payment Sin can never be tried again. All prophecy concerning his first coming was fulfilled. The Strong’s concordance defines the Greek word ----to bring to a close, to finish, to end, passed, finished, to perform, execute, complete, fulfill, (so that the thing done corresponds to what has been said, the order, command etc.) with special reference to the subject matter, to carry out the contents of a command with reference also to the form, to do just as commanded, and generally involving the notion of time, to perform the last act which completes a process, to accomplish, fulfill, to pay tribute. However "It is Finished" is not a word that is just tacked on to the end of Jesus' life or his passion on the cross. In fact, we know, there were still things to do. He had to complete the death process (actually die) and then raise again. It’s finished was a Kairos moment in time. Kairos is a moment that it all comes together. Everything lines up. It’s a timeless moment. Like a drop of eternity expanding the temporal moment. About 33 AD, 3 PM in the afternoon, all of eternity, past, and present was brought together for this for this moment on the cross. It is not like the error of the crucifix which tries to hold him there. It simply brings from him the redemption of all mankind---those who will embrace him. It declares His grace and the fulfillment of what the angel pronounced at Bethlehem “Peace on earth and good will toward men. Paul would say to Timothy by the Spirit it is not Gods will that any should perish but that all be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. It now was made available. In a moment he would breathe his last from the cross, die, be buried, lead captivity captive, walk into paradise with the Thief on the cross, resurrect – with all power in his hand, raise for our justification, [Acts 1:3, 4….shew himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God], and then part into heaven from Mt. Olive. So "it is finished" fits into the ministry "happily ever after" but it’s more. "It is finish" is a code. It’s a program patch----A little something, something for the techies. It’s a Rhema Word. Pastor Eric Zeidler, CTF-tv, stood on the shore of Ocean City NJ looking at the ocean while meditating on the Lord. While waiting a few minutes to go into the studio, he was thanking God for all he had done. He was sharing with me how he sense the peace of God at that moment. It wasn't the the ocean its self that spark he praised. Many had stood in that same spot and felt elated but there was no worship of God. The mind set of worship is the "reality of the redeemed" and those redeemed who have a redeemed mindset. The connection, Pastor Eric’s spirit, through the Holy Spirit, could interpret the code. Jesus had been crucified (committed) before the foundation of the world, but it had to be carried out after Adam sinned. This code of God’s love had already been stamped or programmed into the creation. When Adam sinned, it needed to be turned on and released. All creation knew that God was Love, but they didn’t know the magnitude. It was hidden. Even satan and his crew didn’t know. If they had of they would never have killed Jesus. The cross was their demise. They sentence him because they hated his teaching concerning the kingdom of God and what it was doing in people lives… They were trying to shut him up. Jesus fulfilled the cross. He speaks, it is finished, and pronounces the imprint of creation. IT is now made manifest---the Love of the Almighty. Creation today along with unregenerate mankind, still don’t really know the magnitude of His love. Creation needs the righteous to reveal it. Romans 8 says how can they hear without a preacher. Not only was Jesus declaring the “it’s finish” and fulfilling of all those prophetic things, He was given us what to say and showing us how to say it. Salvation begins and ends with it is finished. No work of yours or mines can ever give us eternal life. When we receive Christ as our savior, all is complete and we are snatched out of darkness into the marvelous light of the kingdom of God (Colossians 1:12,13). Whenever the voice of the enemy arises to give audio to sin, sickness, fear, doubt, debt, poverty, loneliness, or curse--we shout while standing on the reality of the cross--- “It is Finished. Jesus paid it all.” There’s nothing else to do just believe, receive and rest. Ministry, discipleship, and holiness begin and reign first in the revelation that it is already done. Our works don’t obtain. They yield to and express his glory. If these journal excerpts have been a blessing to you, please pass them on to your friends.
